1) Locate the connector
Before you begin locate the computer where the connector is installed for your practice. The easiest way to determine if the connector is installed is to check the computers desktop for the connector icon. The icon is a green square with a white 'u' in the center.
2) Make sure the connector is not running
Before you attempt to manually start the connector it is important to make sure it is not already running. To verify it is not already running check the task bar (lower right corner next to the time on your desktop) to find the connector icon. (green square with white u) If you are on a windows 7 machine you may need to click the triangle to 'show hidden icons'
If you find the connector icon there right click on it and choose 'Quit'
If you do not find the connector icon in the task bar it is not already running.
3) Manually run the connector
After you locate the computer where the connector is installed and have verified it is not running follow the steps below to manually start the connector.
Locate the desktop icon for the connector and double click to run the connector program.
That will run/start the connector.
4) Verify Settings
The only step left at this point is to verify the settings (username, password, save locations etc.) are correct for the connector.
Right click on the connector icon in the task bar in the lower right corner of the screen (it will show there now because you double clicked to run/start the program) and choose 'Settings'
That will open the connector user interface window.
Enter a valid Updox/Docu-Portal Username in the User Name/Email Address field
