This article is about how to use the Local Save process to create a PDF (Portable Document Format) item from pages contained within Updox.

NOTE: Prior to using the Local Save feature it must be configured using the steps outlined in our article: How to Configure Local Save.

To create a PDF using all the pages for a single item:

  1. Click on the Send Item button. A new window will open and you will see the pages for that item listed as attachments at the top of that window.
  2. Click the Local Save button located below the area that displays the pages. If you do not see the Local Save button, you may need to configure the Local Save feature using the steps in our How to Configure Local Save article.
  3. Enter a title in the Title field.
  4. Select a category from the Category drop down.
  5. Enter the date you wish to associate with the item being imported. Note: If no date is entered, the date associated with the item will default to the date the save is completed.
  6. Click Send at the top of the page to initiate the save process. The PDF will be saved to the location specified when you configured the Local Save. The location is indicated on your screen above the title field.

To create a PDF of only the selected pages:

  1. Select the pages you wish to send by placing a check in the box below those pages.
  2. Click the Send this/these X pages button. A new window will open and you will see the pages you selected listed as attachments at the top of that window.
  3. Click the Local Save button located below the area that displays the pages. If you do not see the Local save button, you may need to configure the Local Save feature using the steps in our How to Configure Local Save article.
  4. Enter a title in the Title field.
  5. Select a category from the Category drop down.
  6. Enter the date you wish to associate with the item being imported. Note: If no date is entered, the date associated with the item will default to the date the save is completed.
  7. Click Send at the top of the page to initiate the save process. The PDF will be saved to the location specified when you configured the Local Save. The location is indicated on your screen above the Title field.
